I would have posted last night, but I was so tired by the time I got home. I'll try not to repeat what other people have said. It was great to meet listees both at Jen's little list party & waiting in line. It was my second IG show, & I thought it was AMAZING!!! It was so much better than the first show I saw b/c I knew all the new songs this time & b/c I was so close up. Seeing A&E from the front row definitely made waiting all day in the cold weather well worth it. And b/c I was so close up, I didn't notice anyone talking during the new songs like I did at my first concert. Of course the girl screaming near me was annoying, but overall, everyone around me was pretty respectful. Amy made eye contact w/ me & I swear she smiled right at me which was so cool! The Chronicle, Hofstra's newspaper said that they sold out the show, clearing nearly 4000 tickets. The last time they sold out a show was in 1985. There's also a great picture of A&E in The Chronicle. I was in the bathroom when the posters were passed out, so I was really sad that I didn't get one. But before the show, I asked a nice Public Safety guy if there were any left. He checked & came back & said there weren't any left, but then he brought me one during the show! Everyone was just too nice! Veronica wrote: <> Yeah, that was such a highlight of the night for me! I think Sully told this security guy to pass it back to me b/c I was jumping & calling her name. Everyone else said it was b/c she thought I was cute. Who knows? :) Jen also managed to snag a setlist, but hers was a little crumpled...she said she liked it that way though! Here's what my setlist says: 1. Shame on You 2. It's Alright 3. Reunion 4. 10,000 Wars 5. Pushin the Needle [I wonder where the "g" went!] 6. Get Out the Map 7. Shed Your Skin 8. Everything in Its Own [picture of a little clock] 9. Land of Canaan 10. Galileo 11. Scooter Boys 12. Leeds a 13. Don't Give that Girl Gun [the "a" is above the "Gun"] 14. Cara Mia 15. Chickenman 16. Prince of Darkness 1. Chiapas Bound 2. Our Purpose Here [the Ferron song] 3. Closer to Fine It also tells the key A&E play in, sometimes the instrument (if it's not acoustic guitar, I guess), & how the lights should be (up, ballad, spooky, Spanish, country up, Gabriel up, Patti Smith up, stormy sky, sad, big, long). I'm sad that "alright" is still spelled incorrectly, but oh well. I usually like E's songs better, but A's new ones really rock. I love Scooter Boys, & Chiapas Bound is so powerful. I too am really sad that it won't be on SotS. Also, it seemed like A was looking for E to come out & sing on the end of CB like she did at MHC, but she didn't, which made the song even sadder than it already was. But she did say that it was a love song. Andrew wrote: <> I think it said "To Emily 'The original frat girl'" on one side and "Hofstra 3/16/97" on the other. Emily really seemed to like it though...she said it was the best gift she'd ever gotten or something. But I think the people who gave it to her should post about it! Audery wrote: <> I completely agree here. Jen managed to get us there early enough for an AMAZING spot, keep us relatively warm, & entertain us w/ stories, & I will love her forever for it. Jen deserves a fan club for all she did for us! Deb wrote show: <> I find it interesting that A&E wore similar outfits at Hofstra & MHC. A wore the Lower East Side Needle Exchange t-shirt both times, & E wore what looks like the same overalls & hat. (I wasn't at MHC, but I saw pictures from it.) Overall, the concert was so cool, & I can't wait to get the boot! :) Andi -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Andrea Lipman e-mail: ablipman@sas.upenn.edu homepage: http://www.sas.upenn.edu/~ablipman "All the girls with anorexia are on the street tonight And the boys in the band think they look all right."-Amy Ray _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_
