Date: Fri, 6 Jun 1997 01:06:16 -0400 From: Andi Subject: My PNC Bank Arts Center review I just got home from my 3rd IG concert in a row! I think I could see them every day & never get tired of them (although my throat is really sore from all the singing). Anyway, here's tonight's setlist: Tried to be True Get Out the Map Don't Give That Girl a Gun It's Alright Three Hits You and Me of the 10,000 Wars Shame on You Burn All the Letters * Scooter Boys Power of Two Thin Line Leeds * Shed Your Skin * Least Complicated Everything in its Own Time Kid Fears Cortez the Killer Galileo Encore: Hey Kind Friend Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee + Closer to Fine + * = with Ulali + = with K's Choice Extremely random & haphazard notes: I was 10th row Amy side, & it is definitely a great thing to be close up. They did use the screens tonight, but I'd rather see A&E IRL. I think Ulali are really cool. My friends & I screamed out, "Ulali!" & they looked at us, & Jennifer said, "Ulali, in the house!" & smiled. A broke a strings on DGTGAG, & Josh took over her part. There were cool jams at the end of DGTGAG & 3 Hits. A inserted some lines from Chickenman in the middle of SB & then sang some other song I couldn't identify, & then sang the "crying about" line over & over at the end. Before Po2, they said some people in the audience were getting married in 2 weeks, so they were playing it for them. My friend thought that A&E just needed an excuse to play it! After Leeds, Jennifer from Ulali blew kisses to the crowd. At the beginning of LC, A didn't really seem into it & didn't even sing her whole harmony, but she was into it by the end. A broke another string on Kid Fears. The audience sounded great singing Michael Stipe's part. Last night & tonight, A pronounced Spokane right in HKF, with a little smile on her face. Ulali said that A&E had some friends joining them tonight, so it was really cool when K's Choice came out. One of the guys (I don't know anyone's name in K's Choice) tried to sing a line in BMHAWK, but he really didn't know it, which was pretty funny. The girl sang her line really well though. At MSG & tonight, Joel had a cool violin solo in CTF. Some people held up a huge sign that said Watershed in cool cut out letters, which looked like it had taken a long time to make, & I was surprised that A&E didn't play it. My friend thought that those people held up their sign at all the wrong times, so A&E never saw it, but I don't know about that. At one point, they said they were rearranging thir setlist, but I'm not sure what they changed. If anyone got a setlist (I think Sulli only gave out 2), please post what that setlist says. I was also surprised that they didn't play Hand Me Downs, since last night, they said they would. I noticed that E was saying YOU-la-lee tonight. A mentioned that she borrowed Josh Siegel from his group, the Borrowers. After the show, I bought a cool t-shirt from a woman who was selling them outside for $10. I also bought an official one at the show, but I'm wondering how legal it is to buy it from people outside. It's a really cool tie-dyed shirt (white w/ light blue & purple dye), w/ a big black sun & clouds on the front & a cool sun & stars on the back. The front says, "Indigo Girls Live," & the back says, "Shaming of the Sun 1997 World Tour Indigo Girls," w/ 2 female symbols at the bottom of the "g." Fashion update: E was wearing a blue & white plaid flannel shirt & blue/black pants. (I couldn't tell exactly what color they were.) A was wearing that shirt she loves w/ the red & black oval things w/ one sleeve rolled up & white pants. Sara Lee wasn't wearing black leather pants tonight! They were red & black plaid, & she was wearing the Sara Lee shoes. Best quote of the night (which isn't even that good, but it's the only one I thought to write down): I wish you could hear the words clearer. We got so much to say!"-Jennifer from Ulali On a side note, I found out who the girl who sang CTF at MSG is. She's going to be a senior at Colgate, & she's old friends w/ A&E. She's a good singer (she's actually in a Colgate a cappella group), so A&E invited her up to sing. My friend goes to Colgate & knows this girl. So my 3 day Indigo high is now over, but it was most definitely amazing!
